A 5% share has become available in our exciting young filly Leading Ewe On.

She was due to have her debut this Spring but following the COVID-19 outbreak and the suspension of racing she has been sent on an early summer holiday and will return to training in July and look at winning a bumper in October.

The 5% share costs £2,000, please get in touch for details.

Shantewe gave the Sheep as a Lamb syndicate our first victory, but where did she come from and what does Sheep as a Lamb mean. Answers below:

Sheep as a Lamb comes from an old saying "You may as well be hung for sheep as for lamb". Strictly, it's a justification or excuse for going on to commit some greater offence once one has perpetrated a minor one. A modern day equivalent is that if you're going to get into trouble for having a pint after work in the pub, you may as well stay for five or six. It sums up the syndicate nicely.

Having spent way to much time watching horses I've owned run at Dunstall Park I'm certainly looking forward to looking at the syndicates colours appear in the Grade 2, Goffs UK Nickel Coin Mares' Standard NH Flat on the first day of the Aintree festival.

With Farne who we beat by 5 lengths on debut finishing a close up 3rd at the listed race at Sandown we were due to run in and the favourite from the Wetherby race winning a novice hurdle I think we're going to Aintree with a chance of hitting the frame.

Obviously it was a shame not to win but she’s run another great race to be 3rd in a listed bumper - in turn picking up valuable black type for her future career as a Broodmare (long way down the line, but it all counts). It was a differently run race to Wetherby as they didn’t go much pace and it was a tactical sprint really. I thought she had every chance 3 furlongs out but she didn’t quick...

I can't quite believe that happened yesterday. I'm still in a bit of a daze to be honest and must have watched the race close to 100 times. I've had winners as a part of other syndicates before but this was our first as the Sheep as a Lamb syndicate and the scenes at Wetherby afterwards are something I'll never forget.

The below Racing UK twitter link I must have watched close to 100 times and I don't think I'll ever get tired of the commentary "Shantewe, under hands and heels for Gavin Sheehan, Jamie Snowden and the Sheep as a Lamb Synd...
